Its what search topics are becoming more popular that day. If searches for Justin Bieber jumped 1500% because of something that happened in the news today, then that would be a trending topic.

Does anyone know how Yahoo comes up with the “Trending Now” list on the home page of Yahoo? Is it in order of the most searched phrases/subjects over the last 24 hours, over the week, etc? Are they formulated by topics (ie people, movies, cars)?

Click “options ↬ mail options” and then “general” in left column.
Check – Inbox: Show on startup
Uncheck – Social features: Enable Updates

I’m not sure what you are asking exactly but if it is a commercial you can use Adblock Plus add on with firefox. It blocks all the ads in the web pages, clean surfing.

This means that a lot of people are talking about that celebrity, news articles and so on. if you are interested with who is trending you can click on [Trending] at the top and it will take you to many pages that people are on talking about that particular celebrity.
